THE HISTORY OF LACOSTE
It was in 1933 when René Lacoste founded "La Chemise Lacoste" with André Giller. She produced the Lacoste tennis shirt with the crocodile logo. In addition, she also produced shirts for golf and sailing. 18 years later, in 1951, the company introduced color shirts. Then, the following year, the shirts were exported to the United States, and in 1963, Bernard Lacoste, Rene's son, took over the management. During the late 1970s, Lacoste augment its height of popularity in the USA. Moreover, in the 80s, the company also began to introduce other products into their line: shorts, perfumes, tennis shoes... After that, in 2005, the campany was transfered to Michel Lacoste; Bernad's brother, That same year, almost 50 milion Lacoste products were sold in over 110 countries. Lastly, in 2006, Bernard died.
Nowadays, Lacostre has introduced a home line of sheeting and towels.
